PROGRESS Center (which stands for Promoting Rigorous Outcomes and Growth by Redesigning Educational Services for Students With Disabilities Center) provides information, resources, tools, and technical assistance services to support local educators and leaders (kindergarten through transition age) in developing and implementing high-quality educational programming that ensures students with disabilities have access to free appropriate public education (FAPE).

Nevada Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation
The Department of Employment, Training & Rehabilitation consists of divisions that offer assistance in job training and placement, vocational rehabilitation, workplace discrimination and in collecting and analyzing workforce and economic data. Many of these services are provided through DETR's partnership with the Nevada JobConnect system. DETR's divisions include:
- Employment Security
- Rehabilitation
- Nevada Equal Rights Commission
- Research and Analysis Bureau
- Information Development and Processing
The Rehabilitation Division provides support for students with disabilities in transition, training, and employment support.

Nevada Dual Sensory Project
The purpose of the Nevada Dual Sensory Impairment Project is to enhance the educational services provided to children and youth, birth through 21 years, with vision and hearing impairments. The project provides statewide technical assistance to support parents, service providers, and other service agencies in meeting the educational needs of children who have dual sensory impairments.

Nevada Early Intervention Services
Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS) programs are available to families with children under the age of three (3) who meet Nevada's eligibility requirements. Early Intervention services are provided in natural environments, including home, playgroup and community settings. Families join together with NEIS staff to develop an Individualized Family Services Plan with outcomes that draw on the family's priorities and concerns.
If you are concerned that your child's development, you can contact NEIS at 800-522-0066 to refer your child for an evaluation.

Nevada PEP is a nonprofit organization that provides information, services and training to Nevada families of children with disabilities, including those who are at risk or who have serious emotional disturbances and their service providers.

Office of Special Education Programs
The Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) is dedicated to improving results for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities ages birth through 21 by providing leadership and financial support to assist states and local districts.

Are you planning to educate your child(ren) at home? Here are the steps you need to complete:
Nevada Law (NRS 392.070) provides for a waiver of the compulsory attendance laws and procedures for parents/guardians to follow in pursuing the waiver. Parents who wish to homeschool their child(ren), must complete the Homeschool registration process.
Steps to registering for homeschool:
- Complete a Notice of Intent to Homeschool for each child you are planning to homeschool.
- Attach your educational plan as described in the Notice of Intent to Homeschool.
- Parents must obtain materials and curriculum appropriate for age and skill level of each child being homeschooled.
- Please note that public online schools and charter schools are not considered homeschool.
- Submit completed Notice of Intent to Homeschool and educational plan to: Lyon County School District, Att: Marva Cleven, 25 E. Goldfield, Yerington, NV 89447.
- If your child plans to participate in extracurricular activities, the Notice of Intent to Participate in Extracurricular Activies must also be completed and submitted annually.

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) is federal legislation that protects the privacy of students' Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Annual Performance Report

"The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004) requires states to develop and submit a State Performance Plan (SPP) to the
Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) at the U.S. Department of Education. The SPP is designed to evaluate the state's efforts to
implement the requirements and purposes of IDEA and describe how the state will improve its implementation. The plan consists of several
priority areas with specific indicators defined for each area. Measurable and rigorous targets are defined for each indicator to show progress
throughout the period of the SPP. For school year 2014-2015, states are required to report publicly on the performance of school districts for
SPP indicators 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14.The table below shows how this school district performed on specific indicators
and whether or not the district met the state's annual targets for those indicators as defined in the Nevada State Performance Plan" (Nevada Department of Education, 2016).

What is Child Find?
Child Find is a developmental screening provided to children between 3 and 21 years old that are not currently enrolled in a Lyon County school.
The screenings will cover hearing, vision, speech, language, motor skills, and child development.
To have your child screened, check back for the coming list of scheduled dates and locations.
